Magazine Covers:

Either on paper or on the web, there is nothing as imperative at making a first impression than a cover design.

As always, designs must look professional, be eye-catching, and allure the reader to what awaits within. This is where having a strong sense of typography, the layout of text, and strong photographic ability merge to deliver top-notch content that will allure and enthrall.

The following are some sample designs. Always keep checking back as I am working on more, and my next layout to be represented is a mock-up of Better Homes and Gardens.

Utilizing photography, typography, art, and a vision tying the article headlines to an attractive cover, a magazine is sure to sell.

  Sample Covers:

  • WIRED
Final Project due for "Digital Publishing". I wanted to have my countenance appear out of a Commodore Amiga monitor as a 3D effect, except I was unable to procure a sufficiently large, 300DPI image of such a monitor, so this version had to stand. Having said that, this design won an award for "best magazine cover".
  • Xmas BHAG
A previous project, earlier in the quarter, requiring us to purchase our own props to photograph.
